We thought it would be a good idea to include some ‘run of the mill’, everyday beans to this section. So here they are – Lavazza Qualita Rossa.
I’m sure you’ve seen Lavazza coffee in many high street barista style coffee shops. They’re pretty popular. In fact one of their marketing tags is ‘Italys favourite coffee’. I can believe this as it’s pretty much everywhere you go when if you’re in Italy. This coffee is rich and full bodied and makes a great cafetiere coffee. It doesn’t actually say what strength it is but if I had to guess I’d say it was around a 4 or a 5 using the conventional guides we use here in the UK. It’s a nice brew, with a blend of Arabica and Robusta coffees, rich and intense with a full bodied aroma and taste.
Many coffee connoisseurs these days insist on knowing the age of the beans and when they were roasted etc. Unfortunately Lavazza don’t give this information. However, this doesn’t take away from Qualita Rossa being a great everyday coffee to drink. At £10 for a kilo you can’t really complain. Can you?
Be warned, as with all the coffee for sale through www.coffee-grinders.co.uk these are BEANS. I only say that as I’ve know people buy expecting ground, and then they’re surprised when they get a bag of beans turn up at their door!
