You love coffee right? You must do or surely you wouldn’t be reading this! Well get ready to love it more because our favourite bean has ‘bean’ (get it?) found to be helpful in our daily beauty routines. Here are 3 ways your fave java is going to help you look like Natalie Portman.
Coffee for your face…
Coffee is literally packed with packed with antioxidants and can fight skin aging by purging toxins and protecting against free radicals (whatever the hell they are. I’ve never been sure) and pollution, fag smoke, and much much more.
Want to buy it? Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer, contains coffee beans to wake up skin for an all-day glow.
Want to make it? 2 tablespoons coffee, freshly ground, mix it with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 3 tablespoons of whole milk, and roughly a tablespoon of honey. Slap a light coat of the mixture to your face. Let it rest for roughly 15 minutes and remove with a warm flannel. And Bob’s your mothers brother, you’re bootiful!
Coffee for your body…
Coffee is a diuretic. In laypersons terms – It makes you pee. As such, when applied to the epidermis (skin , I’m trying to be all technical and clever), it can draw fluid away from fat cells, in turn this can make them shrink in size and minimize the appearance of cellulite as well as clearing those blocked pores. Yipee!
Buy it: Skin Food – Coffee Body Scrub, Excellent pore care
DIY it: Thoroughly mix together 1 cup of coffee grounds with ½ cup of white or brown sugar and 1 cup ofcoconut oil. After washing your body, massage the scrub into wet skin for a minute per area, then rinse with warm water.
Coffee for your hair…
Coffee can leave your hair feeling like silk and when massaged into your scalp, not only can caffeine help with dandruff but it can stimulate hair follicles to grow. A short and sweet description but nevertheless, accurate. So I’m told. The recently advertised Alpecin, used by god knows how many Germans is an example of this. We can trust the Germans right?
Wan to buy it: Alpecin Cafffeine Shampoo, to help rejuvenate your locks.
DIY it: Brew a pot of strong coffee, then add half a cup of water. Let it cool until the coffee is lukewarm. Standing in the shower, pour the liquid onto your hair and scalp, then wrap hair in a plastic cap. Sit for 20 minutes then wash it out with warm water.
So it must be coffee that has made me as beautiful as I am today. How much better can our beloved bean get?
